Event description
Join the Bastrop County Historical Commission as we present “Celebrating the Spirit of The Declaration of Independence”. On June 28, 2026 at the JFW Performing Arts Center, Commission members will read excerpts from the Declaration as well as related letters and speeches by George Washington, John Adams, Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Donald Trump. Intermittently, the Bastrop Patriotic Singers will perform familiar music and invite audience to sing along with some of the songs.
This event is free to the public, and we look forward to celebrating the spirit of America 250 with Bastrop County.
